Bath time!

So, turns out Willow gets a tad bit car sick just like her ma. This week Jenni and I took her in the car to pick up my friends from out of town, and poor puppy held on as long as she could, but after 2 hours in the car her breakfast resurfaced. All over Jenni. Sorry Jenni!!!!!!!!!! So when we got home Willow got a bath, and looked like this:

Scrappy 9 pounds soaking wet. Anyone else reminded of the guppies from Little Mermaid?? This weekend she also tried out the new puppy latte at Starbucks! She loved it, but her tummy didn't....and well....let's just say she got another bath. I don't think she would have changed a thing though!

It's my birthday!!! And a bunch of other stuff....

So, in 3 hours I'm leaving for the airport and flying to Chicago to spend my birthday and weekend with two of my best friends from Baylor. Rachel is coming from Dallas and we're going to visit Kristyna. On the list of to do's:

Cubs game on birthday afternoon
Girl time getting pedicures
Deep Dish Pizza
touristy things, michigan avenue, navy pier, hancock tower etc.
Check back next week for pictures!
I never covered our Memorial Day trip to the Houseboat. Rachel got to come from Dallas, and Mark, Linda & Co came from Katy with Seadoo's in tow. I love getting to ride those things!!! While there we did lots of swimming, seadoo-ing, and a tad bit o fishing. Here's a picture of Rachel's big catch!

Aunt Linda had a great idea about how to throw the fish back in the water. She let them flip and flop down the waterslide before jumping back into the lake! It was hilarious!

Last week at work we celebrated the launch of Children's Memorial Hermann Katy, which just means we're officially allowed to associate ourselves with our bigger Children's Hospital which is located downtown. We had a party and the marketing rep brought in high school mascots, as well as our hospital mascot Topper, pictured below...and Clutch who is the Houston Rocket's mascot!! Clutch was by far the best mascot, he was so funny and energetic! My favorite part was watching the Tiger, Mustang, Ram, Spartan, Topper, Clutch & Ranger mascots all get into one elevator!

Things are going smoothly with my house. Last week they began framing the house and it was fun to watch how fast that was completed! I think soon they'll be insulating and wiring, then it's sheet rock fiesta!

Latest picture below, sorry it's dark....I haven't been making it out there before nightfall. You can also see here that the driveway was poured this week!

That's all I've got for now, I should get an hour or two of sleep before I leave!
Oh, and It's June 12 now, so I'm 24!!!

Willow!!!

If you haven't heard already, Jessica is having a girl, Gina is having a girl, and now I have a little girl of my own!!! Last week I did the opposite of what I'm always telling Elyse about going to the pound. I was bored, and we went to the pound just to look at the dogs. 48 hours later I had myself a dog. Her name is Willow and she is a poodle mix, which is exactly why I love her! She's got the fur color and long tail of Emma, my most favorite dog in the whole wide world! And she's got the face and size of Manna, my most favorite poodle! Some like to say she's a Emanah.....I say ManEmma. But her real name is Willow.

She was a stray living on the streets, and weighs in at a mean 8 1/2 lbs! She had been there 3 days before I snatched her up! She seems to be house trained and gets along great with the other 3 dogs at my parents house. She loves her Karo, who has been sweet to dog sit while I go to work. Anyway, I know you all just want to see pictures so here are some of the few I've been able to get.

This is the first picture I took of her when I was holding her at CAP. She was so scraggly and dirty from living on the streets!

Sleeping after surgery. She was spayed the day I brought her home so I got her a soft bed to recover in. She was so out of it that I was worried she might be deaf!
How much is that doggy in the window???
See the resemblance? She's a Mini Emma! She has Emma's body and long tail and Manna's face. Willow loves Emma, but Emma might not care so much about Willow.

Willow Bug

She likes to hide under my bed, and I'm pretty sure she thinks I don't see her sneak under there....
Busted!!!

Buried Treasure!

Thanks to the genius idea of a little bro, I decided to bury a treasure in the ground underneath my house. I went before they laid the foundation and buried a special item so that a part of the first owner will stay there as long as the house does. If you want to know what I buried you'll have to come visit and I'll show you where I buried it, and if you're lucky show you what it was! Secret killing you yet?

The good news is that today the foundation was poured, so it's one step closer to home!! Here's how it looks tonight:
