Happy Hour!

Go ahead family & friends, start planning the intervention.
I have an addiction, and it's Vanilla Diet Coke with Sonic's little ice!
I've become hooked on this drink, and lately I've been making mid work day trips to the Sonic next door to get a Route 44 fix, which by the way is only $1.07 during their 2-4PM Happy Hours! Anyone else want to share their Sonic drink addiction?

Rodeo 2010

It's that time of year again! This year I actually got there early and went inside the livestock area where the shopping, petting zoo & birthing center are located. It was so fun! I'll spare you the pictures I took of the sheep who had JUST delivered a baby, but here are some other cute pics of baby animals!

We also saw some famous animals! Here's a prize winning cow, and Elsie, the Borden milk cow!

Later we headed into Reliant for the real show, the calf roping, bull riding, wagon races, and my fave- mutton bustin! We saw a wagon wheel shatter to pieces mid race, a kid make it all the way across the stadium on a sheep, and quite a few crazy bullrides!

After the show it was time for the concert of the night, and we were really excited! Brad Paisley was playing and he definitely did NOT disappoint! He put on such a great show, I really suggest going to see him if he plays in your town! He played some of my fave songs like:
Celebrity
Waitin on a Woman
Welcome to the Future
Ticks
Then
I'm Gonna miss her
I'm Still A Guy
That man can PLAY a guitar, and each one he played was prettier than the last! All of his guitars had a paisley pattern on them and some even had glitter! I tried to get a picture of each one, but there were 8 or 9, so here are my faves.
Teal glitter with paisley

Red and gold paisley

Black and gold paisley

Teal and cream paisley

After the show we stopped by The Hideout, aka the rodeo bar and nightlife hot spot, but left early since we had to work the next day. It was a great night and I look forward to my next rodeo adventure! Now I have a whole year to work on getting a country look together, hopefully with some cute cowgirl boots included!

Buddies

I know, I know, I'm THAT girl who posts about her dog every other day...but these pictures are too cute not to share! We had a little backyard photo session the other day with Willow and Harlow, they've learned to love each other and have the BEST time playing!
Ruuuunnnnn!!!!

Doesn't Harlow looks so cute with her new furcut?

We love these furry girls!

Caring for Katy 2010

Each year our church takes a day off from our normal Sunday morning activities and we head into our community to serve those in need. That's over 2,000 people out working in our community! I'm so proud of the giving nature of the people in my church and today is a great example of how we try to minister to those in our area. Each adult bible fellowship chooses a project and this year my class chose to help a single mom in the church with a few projects around her house. She lost her 16 year old daughter last December in a car accident, so you can imagine she hasn't been too worried about work around the house.
At the end of the day we had:
-spring cleaned her kitchen, bathrooms, living room and bedrooms
-painted bathroom, interior doors, and baseboards
-installed gutters
-mowed yard/landscaped/laid sod
-installed weather stripping on exterior doors
-power washed the driveway
-left her with a new mower and weed eater for the future!
I think the family was really grateful, and we had a lot of fun working together to bless them. I'm looking forward to more service projects as a class, we're blessed beyond what we deserve and need to make sure we're passing on a portion of what we receive!

Hi, my name is Harlow.

I recently moved in with a new family and thought I should introduce myself. My new mommy Jenni adopted me yesterday from CAP (the same place my new dog roommate Willow was adopted from!)
Here's me and my mommy leaving the shelter, I was so happy to be outside and getting in a car!

My name at the shelter was Candie, but my new family keeps calling me Harlow so I guess that's my new name! I came home last night and was (carefully) introduced to Willow - a small, super fluffly white dog. She told me it's a fun place and took me in her backyard to play. She's fun and all, but I'm WAY faster than Willow, so it's really no competition when it comes to chase.

I'm headed to the grooming salon tomorrow for a good shave since I have some matted fur that can't be brushed out (believe me, the humans tried last night after my bath). I'll look like a new dog once I get home from a day of pampering! If you live near my new place come by and meet me, I'm really sweet!

Oh, and could you pass it on to the humans that I HATE the crate they bought me? K, thanks!
