Let the niece welcoming begin!!!

I know I post all the time about how much I LOVE having Emmy around and what a fun job it is to be an aunt! Good thing I enjoy it because this fall I'm getting two more nieces!!! Baby Ava and Emmy's sister are due a month apart, so from now until Thanksgiving we're on baby watch. In a few weeks it may be upgraded to a warning just in case Ava comes early!

This weekend we went to Austin to celebrate with Greg and Gina at the shower their friends threw for them. Cass, aka 'the hostess with the mostest', threw the cutest rubber duckie laua themed party!! It was at a pool which was genius for August because we jumped right in and stayed cool! Gina and I had fun swimming with beach balls, while Greg and the guys enjoyed going down the waterslides...even though they're kind of made for kids. I don't know what I enjoyed more, watching Greg go down, or hearing him go down.

I love this picture, it reminds me of the 2 years we were all at Baylor together, and how we had family dinners every week. Love you guys!!

Monday on our way home we got to go with Gina to see Ava!! She had a 3D/4D ultrasound done and we got to go! It's so cool because instead of just getting black and white pictures, you get a life like face shot, and get to watch her move around video style, so you get to watch her personality. Ava is a sassy girl and made some really cute faces! Here's my favorite:

She's already cooler than us, sporting the Loser 'L' on her forehead!!! Of course Child Life Aunt Sarah was proud of how she keeps her hands up to her face, such a good little self soother!!!

Supermodel Puppy

FACT: Willow LOVES riding on top of the houseboat, having her ears blowing in the wind, and smiling! I'm convinced she's got the potential to be Americas Next Top Puppy Model.

Houston, we have grass...

Buying a house sure has kept me busy lately. Sorry about the lack of blog posts. Turns out my life isn't exciting enough to warrant daily or even weekly blog posts.

Anyway, the house has made great progress in the past few weeks. Inside is basically finished except that the kitchen is missing all of the appliances, my washer/dryer aren't there either. The A/C was installed this week, & last week the landscapers came and made the yard! It's pretty, and the back yard is bigger than I thought it would be....anyone have advice on what kind of lawn mower I should get?

Dia del Hermana!

About this time every year I start to feel sad that another summer is coming to an end, which means that my little...scratch that....younger brother Bradley will be leaving to go back to college. Since I don't have summer breaks, I take every chance I get to hang out with him after work, but it's not really enough. Turns out it's true that when you get older you love your siblings and wish you could go back to the days when you all lived in one house.

So, to cope with Brad's departure, I claim a day each August to have Dia del Hermana. For all you gringos, that means day of the sister. We started out going to Astros games and dinner together, but since they weren't in town this year on Dia del Hermana, we were forced to make other plans.

Dia 2008 started with lunch at Chuck E Cheese. See, Emmy is in town and she was going to Chuch E Cheese with our parents, so we tagged along. That mouse is a creepy creepster.

After Chuck E, we went to the movies and saw Batman: The Dark Knight. I had only seen Batman Begins a week earlier so I was pretty into the whole flying cape, batmobile, scratchy voice thing. It's not as scary as I expected, and it didn't make me miss Heath Ledger too much. His role of Joker was played well, and with excellent comedic timing. Excuse me, I want to drive.....

After Batman we made a pitstop at the worst entertainment/media store on earth, aka The City. Then went to a new carwash since the usual had freaked out about a pending tropical storm, closed, and boarded up all it's windows. Don't even get me started on what a let down tropical storm Edouard turned out to be...

After carwash we went to a few guitar stores looking for a new capo for B-rad's guitar. After two failures we moved on to dining. Dinner on Dia del Hermana is no laughing matter, and we don't mess around. Except that this year we did play with our food. We went to the Melting Pot. I LOVE this place, plus we got free chocolate dessert fondue with my birthday coupon. So, we had fun experimenting with new sauces, cooking our own food, burning Brad's fingers and occasionally eating sans utensils. When all else fails, use your pinchers.

Finding ourselves stuffed and broke...we headed back to Fulshear. Dia del Hermana 08 = Great success!
Pictures coming soon...if Brad chooses to give me the rights...
